New Pictures!

Brian and I just got home from vacation hoping we had new pictures waiting for us and we did! We had a great time while we were away. We toured pretty much every part of New Mexico north of Albaquerque. I will add some vacation photos later but haven't had time to download them yet.

Anyway - attached with the picture was updated information on Jimmy. He is napping around every 2 hours, wakes for the day at 8 am and goes to bed at 10 pm but wakes every 2 hours. He has gained wait and is 9.9 pounds. The foster mother reports that he is in excellent health. The woman holding him in the pictures is our adoption rep, Kelly. She and Denise traveled to Guatemala last week so these are current pictures.

Hope everyone is well!

Shayla's First Communion and Nursery Preparations.

Traci, Jason and I attended Shayla's First Communion on Sunday. It was great to spend time with the Thomas afterward at lunch. Shayla insisted on a congo line which Traci happily oblidged. I was a party pooper and stayed behind to capture the moment.

COSI team chipped in with Jenn Kramer buying a great piggy bank for Shayla and others helping to fill it up. Thank goodness the Rosary Traci, Jason and I bought was so pretty, otherwise I don't think she would have even noticed after opening the piggy bank.

Judy and others have been busy helping with baby stuff. I have stuffed animals, books, blankets (Grandma Judy has made 4 so far!), baby clothes and many other things. We have to hurry and finish the dresser so I will have a place to put everything. I made the letters that spell his name and have started a scrap book with the early pictures we have gotten.

Hopefully new pictures will arrive in a week or so.

Happy Easter!

This last week was very busy at work. I am thankful for busy days. They flew. I worked Monday through Saturday. Friday was the busiest and I helped out at the front desk since we were well staffed. I saw a family - father, mother and two girls - come in and knew immediately the girls were from Guatemala. They had some questions so I was able to chat with them for a moment. I heard the mother suggest she and the girls visit the restroom and took the chance to pull the father aside and ask where the girls were from. He said Guatemala and I told him I was adopting from Guatemala too. He was very excited. He said it was the best thing he has ever done and quickly offered me some travel tips. He suggested we leave a day or so early so we can explore the country some. I was so excited. Made my day.

Today my family came to Columbus for Easter. It was great. We have never really had a holiday at our house. I colored some Easter eggs last night and bought groceries and today I spent the day cleaning and cooking. The meal turned out great, if I do say so myself.

We had a nice time eating together and showing off the house. It really was a great day and I was thrilled everyone was able to come to the house, but I have to admit I kept thinking about how different it will be when Jimmy is home. I am sure it is especially hard because I want to do all the special holiday things and I can't. At the same time I am starting the feel like a Mom but at the same time I feel a little like I am still faking it - waiting for someone to give me permission. Everyone warned us that the waiting would be the hardest part, and truly we have just begun, but I can tell there will probably be some bad days mixed in with the good. Luckily I know work is going to continue to be busy, we have a vacation planned coming up in a couple of weeks, and surely it is going to get warm and we are going to want to get out and enjoy all the spring and summer have to offer.

I have Monday and Tuesday off of work so I plan on getting the dresser painted. Plus Missy called and I get to spend the evening with Mr. Julian tomorrow night which will be loads of fun.

Just gotta keep busy...

March Photos!

We will receive new photos every month. I thought the original photos would count as our March photos but then I opened my email today and there were new ones! No new information but we think he looks pretty cute all dressed up for St. Patty's Day.
